Traditional Manufacturing Methods in the Modern Age: The Morgan 4-4.
The Morgan 4-4 continues to use the same manufacturing methods since it was introduced by Morgan in 1936. The chassis is still made using traditional ash wood and it’s carved and formed using traditional hand tools akin to a school’s design technology workshop.
Due to the traditional manufacturing process, it takes a few weeks to months to make the car compared to today’s automated robot manufacturing plants that can churn cars in a matter of minutes.
I am a fan of traditional manufacturing methods as it allows traditional methods to be kept alive.
